I think it would be more accurate to talk about violence. Violence corrupts everything. It is not the virtuous among us that are attracted to violence but all the sociopaths of the world. However, with the State the sociopath appears as if he is altruistic for the betterment of mankind when he simply wishes to to use violence. Peaceful individuals that understand the non-aggression principal know that violence is not a way to solve complex social problems, and that violence either creates or worsens complex social problems.
